Tathra Homestead is the business and passion and lifestyle of the Darmody family!
Our property is near Kapunda, South Australia, on the Western side of the Barossa Valley. ‘Tathra’ is an aboriginal word meaning ‘beautiful country’ and was chosen by Kim and Joy as the property’s name in 1991 when our family moved in. We have reintroduced both plant and animal biodiversity to the property, while planting an olive grove.
We are committed to the principles of organic production, implementing chemical-free production throughout the property. Tathra Homestead revolves around an olive grove, a vegetable garden and our ladies, the free-range chickens.
Tathra Homestead is a signatory to the Australian Olive Association Code of Practice. The Code of Practice (COP) aims to guarantee the authenticity and quality of certified products and distinguish them from imported products.

Read the blog of one of our loyal Barossa customers, Ange Pickett, as she writes about a night of cooking (including our eggs in some icecream!)
